Been working hard in the fields here and found little time to play in the reef tank. We made a quick update video to show you where the progress is at on the Dream Tank. The system overall is stable and doing well, there are few areas of monitoring on coral health and getting used to the additives etc but overall is coming along. Yes there is lot of space and plenty room for more coral and fish but we are taking one step at time and enjoying the creation for sure.

How to tell the best…TEST IT
I love to look into how well things are made for us in the industry. By that I mean I really like to know that I get what I pay for which is the best I can afford.
So with that said you can tell I love to test my products and this time Ryan at BRS did it for me. He actually makes it simple enough to understand and see that I really know we are using a truly great product.
Check out the video BRS made on the testing for Calcium/Mg, it’s a well made video.
PVC Cementing our Sump Plumbing
Everyone is sending us very nice comments on our plumbing and how nice it looks. They keep asking how we made it look so nice and the answer is the glue or cement. So we are sharing what we used and how we did it.
T5 bulb comparison video
Than does a great job here of showing us the differences in lighting on coral using a single manufacturer t5 bulb. Check out the video; it’s well done by him.
Part two, Than upgraded the video to a second with even more comparisons
Coral Frags doing well
The coral frags from the 55 gallon and 75 gallon reefs have been moved to the new Dream Reef. The little guys are really hanging in there pretty well all things considered. Anytime you adjust coral to a new home, stress and death are all possible but so far things are going well.

Creating a Cool Coral Colony
We use The Alternative Reef rock again and made another cool colony of coral.
The best part is the enjoyment of watching the colony grow and develop.
PAR Levels Can Be Useful
Today we made a video on PAR levels and how they can be useful. They are helpful when re-acclimation of corals is occurring.
New Dream Tank Build Thread
Sometimes people like to find us easier and for that we do partake on the forums at Reef2Reef and Zeovit also on Facebook. Feel free to look us up at these forums under ReefDVMs.
Here are a few great links
Creating a Duncan Coral Colony
We decided the first colony of coral to place in the tank would be the Duncans. We made a little video to show how we made this colony and got it established in the dream reef tank.
The plan is to continue to grow this colony and work towards a clam colony and then on to bigger and better LPS and that no doubt will lead to the great SPS fun. All in due time. =)
New Corals in the Dream Tank
We are placing the corals in the dream tank.
Sure is a slow process but it is starting out well.
We decided to use The Alternative Reef shelf rock and make a colony of Duncans.
The shelf rock allows for the structure to be placed anywhere on the glass and that is great.
We also added the first of many clams into the system. The color is not the best for he was in the transition tank a little too long but with a little husbandry and time we can make him shine again.
